Passenger accommodation is coming along nicely. It’s all plain sailing from here

Everything has definitely carried on going steadily and very smoothly. We’ve been busy having the insulations set up and getting all the ceiling panelling sorted in the passenger accommodation. It’s coming along quite quickly which I guess is a good thing given that the first ferry will be sailing within about three months. The cabins are virtually all finished, apart from some of the luxury ones, and the electrics are going pretty well too. The automation and control system for the main engine and generators are all up-and-running successfully. On the Hollandica all the cabins have their showers and wash units installed. They look very trendy and have Hans Grohe shower heads! They come as complete units and get delivered by a small trolley and we’re still waiting for the Britannica’s showers to get installed – at the moment all 500 or so of them are waiting next to the ship on the quayside. I’ve just had a look round the rest of the insides too and the public deck – deck 9 – is almost finished, with the floors levelled out and the site walls getting put in. In the shop you can see the glass wall’s front line and the railing and ceiling, but we’ll be leaving the glass until the one of the last things we put in. I’m looking forward to the day when I can say that we’re dealing with finish touches like that! //Captain
